Letter from HOA President, Misti Steed

I’ve had the honor of serving as HOA President since December 2020 when our former leader, Raymond Newton, passed away after many years of service. I served on the board for a few years before this, bringing me to close to 8 years of volunteer service. My term has been filled with unexpected issues, including the tornado in 2021 and numerous zoning/development issues that many residents may never have had to worry about because the Board and I acted in Eagle Point’s interests. Eagle Point is an older community, which presents unique covenant compliance issues as homes age and landscaping matures. Throughout my years of service, I’ve sought to maximize Eagle Point’s property values and to apply our covenants fairly.

My term of service comes to an end this year, as well as the term of Dave Gangle, our Landscape Committee Chair. We already have one open board position, as board member Bill Myers now resides outside of Eagle Point. That means that Eagle Point needs to fill 3 board positions beginning in 2025. HOA Board positions last for 2 years, so these 3 board positions will be for 2025-2026. While Dave and I are still residents of Eagle Point and willing to stay on as informational resources for the HOA, it is time for new people to take on leadership roles.

If you decide to seek a Board position, we will include your short bio in the annual dues letter and ballot that goes out in December. The election results will be announced at our Annual Meeting in January 2025 (the last one where I will preside), and your term will begin. We look forward to seeing who next leads our wonderful community’s HOA!
