Eagle Pointer - ANNUAL MEETING CANCELLED
Eagle Point Residents -
Because I was the serving as
Vice-President on the Board of the EPHOA at the time of Raymond Newton’s
passing, I became the interim President until the new Board is put in
place and votes new officers in.
The current Board members (me, Dave
Gangle, Don DeCesare, and David Evans) have voted unanimously to cancel
the annual meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January
12th at 7:00 pm at The Hampton Inn. Group
gatherings of this nature pose a health threat at this time, and we feel
it would be irresponsible to try to get such a large group together.
We realize the bylaws call for an annual meeting, but COVID has changed
the way things are done in this world. Any venue we’ve considered
would have trouble hosting a socially distanced group as large as ours.
We’ve consulted with other HOAs who attempted video conferencing
their meetings and doing live streams, and we feel Eagle Point is too large for
either forum to be conducted successfully.
Right now, the Board is scheduled to
meet next Wednesday,
January 13th. At that time, we will welcome Bill Myers to the
Board of EPHOA; he was a candidate on the ballot you received with your
annual letters and dues invoice. We are grateful for his willingness to
serve and look forward to him becoming a part of the Board. Per the
bylaws, the Board will also elect officers at next week’s meeting. We
will publish the minutes of that meeting by close of business on
Friday, January 15th.
While we feel it necessary to
cancel the annual meeting, we feel strongly that we need to give residents a
voice for their concerns and questions about Eagle Point and the plans for
2021. To that end, please email [email protected] with
any issue/concern you have. Please indicate in your e-mail whether you’d
like us to publicly address the issue or whether you’d like a private
reply; we will do our best to accommodate your request. At the Board
meeting on
January 13th, we will discuss the issues we receive, group like
concerns together, and make a plan to answer or publish a
list/summary of answers.
I will personally miss seeing
the familiar faces that usually come to the annual meeting, and I don’t like
losing the opportunity to meet new neighbors! I look forward to
continued service to Eagle Point, and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!
May 2021 bring back the best parts of our “normal”, pre-COVID lives!
Blessings,
Misti Steed

I’ve learned a lot in my service on the Board for the past few years and hope that my experience allows me to represent you effectively and efficiently.
