Updated AT&T fiber information
Edited to add:
For purposes of clarity, please understand that neither the HOA’s purpose nor authority is to negotiate contracts or services with utility companies. Current HOA president Misti Steed gathered this information as a courtesy to residents. Utility companies are not required to communicate with HOA’s.
Due to proximity to the existing feed from U-Verse hubs, it sounds like The Landing, The Trace, and The Crest are part of a future phase for fiber. There is no timeline available but near future . Residents may contact AT&T to express interest in getting fiber in these areas so that the demand is on record for them.
Original post 10/28/2024:
In order to get an update on the fiber installation, I just introduced myself to a couple AT&T guys who are parked in the cul-de-sac near my house. The previous phase involved Star Construction laying the fiber and installing the utility boxes throughout Shelby County, including Eagle Point. AT&T employees are now testing the lines and installing the new terminals in those boxes. They anticipate the new faster service will go active in the next couple weeks to a month. When I mentioned that I had not seen a marketing effort from AT&T to promote this, they said that they often do door to door sales campaigns. I told them that EP is a non-solicitation community and that I hoped we would be receiving mailers soon. They said they would pass this information along to their supervisors, as well as the fact that they need to make sure Star Construction remedies all remaining issues with sod. Should you have concerns or issues (including property damages), you can contact Star Construction via email at [email protected](include your address, contact information, and pictures of damages), or you can call them at 865 - 521 - 6795.
